This is a lovely barn, and black and white suits the scene nicely. I do like the second one a bit better. In the first one, the near fence is leaning enough to make me wonder about it. Also, it blocks my entry into the scene. In the second one, the line of the fence leads me right to the barn and the fence appears to be a bit straighter. I realize that a crooked fence isn't a deal breaker. But it is distracting.
I want to strongly second AzPicLady's analysis of Photo #2. The first photo gives me way too much information. Where do you look with the strong post in the middle foreground, the leaning fence and all those clouds? #2 is a photo with an easily identified "hero" (the barn), and your eye leisurely makes its way to the focus of the photograph.
