Several days ago I posted the color photo of this old barn near Ellensburg, Wa. with the note that it would soon be converted to black & white. So, here's the result. Both have a mild sepia tone and adjustments to the clouds and various tones. There are some issues with banding in the sky and that will be worked on, but am unsure how to proceed with its removal at this point. Be that as it may, I'm liking the results so far. Hopfully you do too. Comments are always welcome. Good, bad, or otherwise. Ken

Perfect image for rendering in B&W. Photo is sharp, even in DDL. I did not even notice the banding until I read the description. I like the first one best.
Ever wonder what allows a person to just walk away from a structure be it a house or barn?

Excellent tone. Sharp and great composition, especially in the first one.

What the bit depth of the capture file and the processed file? Did banding show during pp?

Thru your question, I may have resolved the issue. I shoot in RAW, but as I remember, this was converted to a 8 bit jpeg prior to the majority post work. I'll mess with the RAW image again a bit later. Thanks!

The non-level horizon makes me dizzy looking at it. I would like to see the comparison of the photo with a level horizon (and presumably a leaning barn...).
