Trying to find recommendations for memory cards for Nikon D850 I'm getting this week. I can't seem to find much info on Nikon website.

I've used both Sony and Lexar XQD cards in all my bodies, including the D850, with absolutely zero issues. Best of luck.

I've used both Sony and Lexar XQD cards, of various sizes, in all my bodies, including the D850, with absolutely zero issues. Best of luck.

I'm so glad I don't bother with Video; SanDisk an I'm happy and my cameras are happy.
For my D850 I've been using a Sony Professional XQD G Series 32GB Memory Card (QDG32E/J) as my main memory card in the XQD slot plus a SanDisk Extreme Pro 128GB SDXC UHS-I Card (SDSDXXG-128G-GN4IN) in my SDXC slot (along with a Sony MRW-E90/BC2 XQD USB 3.0 Reader for both the XQD and SDXC cards to upload photos to my Macbook Pro). Cards and reader work great and all are available on Amazon.com.
I use XQD cards from Sony and Sc cards from Sandisk. I always get the ones with the fastest write and read speeds as I shoot primarily nature and use Continuous High a lot. If I were just shooting landscapes from a tripod, then for the SD cards I could get ones with lower the read and write speeds and save some money.
I mush prefer using XQD cards over SD cards because they seem to be better made and have fast read/write speeds.

I have the D850 and for the SD card, I use Sandisk Extreme Pro. 95MB/s. The XQD card is a Sony G card. 440 MB/s Read, 400 MB/s write.
I can shoot about 24 images before buffering starts.
I shoot RAW to the XQD. The SD is used for overflow.

you must have Lexar or sandisc or it will reject the card. that's it. I personally put a big XQD in and never take it out and just change the SD
That's exactly what I have done!

Thanks! The camera is on the way as my insurance company is replacing my camera equipment which was stolen. I choose to upgrade from the d500 which was the current replacement for what I had before. Hopefully it will get here this week as I have an outing on Saturday I would love to have a good camera
Use exactly the same cards that you used in your D500. Just keep in mind that each file will be about twice as big as it would have been in the D500.
I had a d300 that took CF cards. The replacement for it is the d500. I decided to upgrade and spend the money now as I don't buy equipment very often.
