Trying to find recommendations for memory cards for Nikon D850 I'm getting this week. I can't seem to find much info on Nikon website.

you must have Lexar or sandisc or it will reject the card. that's it. I personally put a big XQD in and never take it out and just change the SD

Don't know about International models but definitely not true for US ones.

Don’t get sucked in to the need for very cast XQD or SD cards unless you specifically need them. Shoot to the second slot with your existing SD cards until you have evaluated your needs. XQD cards are very expensive so if you have a long trip it could prove very costly.
An answer suggested to me that I use is to
1-Shoot to the XQD card
2-use the in camera copy facility to copy to an SD card.
3-backup the SD cards to a Western Digital WD wireless drive.
I try to keep the SD cards as a second backup and then reformat the XQD drives as required.
The joys of camera ownership.

Sony and many others will be brokenhearted to hear that.

I use Sony, and Lexar XQD cards and SanDisk for Sd, but there are many good alternatives for SD.
If you're not doing video, don't get wrapped up on superfast cards. As stated, check your manual.

I use Lexar and Sony XQD
I use Lexar and SanDisk SD cards

I use the same in D850 and D500 with no issues.

Reject??? Total BS.
I use nothing but Delkin XQD & SD UHS II cards in my D850 and its never rejected any of them.

I use Sony XQD cards and SanDisk SD cards. I shoot neither bursts nor video, so my D850 (and D500s) are both set up with the SD as the primary slot and XQD as secondary. Video is set to go to XQD as well, just in case. Raw images go to the SD card and I usually save JPEGs to the XQD. That lets me use a smaller XQD card. It is easy and quick to swap card assignments if necessary.

Thanks! The camera is on the way as my insurance company is replacing my camera equipment which was stolen. I choose to upgrade from the d500 which was the current replacement for what I had before. Hopefully it will get here this week as I have an outing on Saturday I would love to have a good camera

UH is the home of false and distorted information...I only relate my own experience. I just looked at a hog who had posted 20,000 times in 3 years ….Was all that information correct ?
