Books to enjoy:
Love the desk & chair...is that a dial phone?
Agh! The dreaded school bus! Turns my 20 minute commute to a 40 minute commute; forgot it was the first day of school a few weeks back (at least my boss laughed when I showed up 15 minutes late)
Nurses Training and college came to mind as it has played such a huge effect on my life...
Here are a few memories from the beginning of a very long and continuing personal experience.
From my graduation book-1963!

Yes, it is and like the one my parents used as I grew up.
Can you post the calendar for challenges this month again, please. I can not seem to find it.

Thanks lhammer for hosting another Free Sunday, Katspangle with Silhouette & Shadows and UserId/Patography with Graffiti & Street Art…great challenges and wonderful contributions everyone!
With summer coming to an end, autumn knocking at the door; school buses messing with my commute to work reminded me of the days when back in school and I would think, “why do I need to learn this stuff!” Let’s all go back to school and think about “Reading, ‘Riting, & ‘Rithmetic” and express ourselves with captures of reading, writing and arithmetic in our daily lives…Here are a few to get us started! Schools in session!
Thanks lhammer for hosting another Free Sunday, Ka... (

Good start on this challenge, Vicki, and thank you for hosting your first.
(I have to apologize to everyone...my "creativity" has up and left me for
some reason, so I haven't been able to come up with a new challenge, and
I'm having trouble coming up with something for this one...although you can
bet I'll be watching closely, hoping someone else's idea will spark one of mine.)
Here's about the only one that comes to mind. I went to two different one room
schools growing up. Both handled eight grades, had coal furnaces and the main
reason I learned to concentrate on my studies at hand...with the teacher "teaching"
seven other grades, you were tasked with doing your own studies while the teacher
interacted with students in another grade.
That's me in the front row, second from left in the striped shirt and dirty pants. My
one year older brother is in the last row, again, second from left.
