Somebody made a c*ck up there !!!
I can't give you the dates of these photos, but here are my Mum and Dad in their elementary school - near Manchester, UK. They are labelled AB (Dad) and FH (Mum), and were both born in 1908 - so make your own guess as to the date of the photos (maybe during WW l?)
They must have paid attention to the 3 Rs because they both became teachers.
Wow...pretty hard to know what to do with this Challenge...maybe that's why it's called that.
I once heard a response to the "why do I have to learn this stuff?" question. The response was, "so you can learn how the box is built so you can think outside of it".
I have always thought that was wonderful...so, at the risk of being to far outside the box for this challenge, here are images of kids learning to think creatively, which I think is every bit as important the the 3 r's.
.
The were shown an image of Frank Lloyd Wright's "falling water" house and the instructor discussed its design.
They were then asked to create something that they think is an inspiration from that design. There were many options of how they could do that.
I want to call this one "that's what I hoped it would look like!"
There was nearly two hours of deep engagement in this work. That's amazing!

I love looking at the old photos.........I wanted to show my Grandparents class photos and my Grandfather's report card;also my Grandmother's teaching certificate. She taught in a one room schoolhouse in Indiana in the early part of last century.
My Grandma's school class around 1910;she is in the bottom right corner
This is her teaching certificate.
My Grandfather is the front row, middle.
One of his high school report cards, probably his Senior year, as he graduated in 1917.
This was a really good idea at an event I was at. Reading and writing on this one. Pen and tags in little box on front.

Not only is my "Pubic" not for sale, it will not be on display...
(Must have something to do with "reading..." LOL)
In this case, the proof reader did poorly.
There are so many things to learn - if you are learning to sail, this would be your "knot manual" which you would then prove you knew how to use.
