I was there in May. The water seemed a bit off. This was taken around 4:30 in the afternoon. Nikon D750, Nikon 24-120 f/4.0 at 24mm and f/16, ISO 200, 1/125 sec. In retrospect, I think my Samyang 14mm would have been a better choice.

The last time I was there, I had just spent time with people from the agency that manages this site. They continually warned against being out on the very edge of those rocks, as they fracture easily. So, I didn't get the iconic image you did! And, I understand that they're now charging folks?

Neat picture. Wish mine were half this good!

Beautiful there, isn’t it? Great shot.

Rail? Is that something new? There was no rail when I was there two years ago.

They added a railing last year. They are also building what looks like a handicap accessible walkway down to the overlook.

Wow, When I use the download I can barely see the tiny blue specks of the rafts in your shot.
Then when I "left click' to enlarge I can clearly see the rafts and tents in the campsite.
That being said, this pic is great and plenty sharp enough for me. Also, the setting sun just pushes it over the top!!!
The only thing that I can add is . . .

Thanks Jimmy. Yeah your right. I'm to hard on myself and fall into the trap of pixel peeping. I think I have a misconception that because I'm shooting a D5600 instead of lets say a D850, my photo's have too many defects. So I will take your advise and smile and enjoy my little crop sensor camera!

That's a great shot! And you used the fight f/stop. If you had used f/8 you wouldn't have gotten those beautiful rays of the setting sun. Nice job.

I did not think of that. F/8 would not have brought out the rays of the sun.

Nice picture. For Horseshoe Bend wider is better. It's amazing how shooting at different times of the day will make the landscape look completely different. I see there's rafters in your pic too.

Yeah I have no fear of heights. I visited my sister out there and was constantly getting yelled at for being to close to the cliff edges. There charging people now? I guess I'm not surprised since they have to pay for all the updates there.

Excellent capture! Did you visit Antelope Canyon?

I did! I had a reservation for lower Antelope canyon but it was delayed 3 hrs because of a flash flood the night before. They had to shovel sand back into the canyon so people had a level walking surface. It was very crowded and hard to take good photos but it was still worth it. Just an otherworldly place. Here's a photo that I took.

Geeze Matt -- it sounds like you were on my vacation. I did Antelope also, but took the night tour. It was just me, my wife and the guide.

It looks like a beautiful place and the picture you took is, likewise beautiful.

... and this is just my opinion... but the rays of the sun do not look real. Is it... or is it digitally added?
