The unidentified auto is a Ford model A Victoria, a much sought out model today.

Thanks Rarskinner for viewing and filling in the missing information. I saw the Victoria on a list of models but had never seen one. It has a more modern look from the rear. Can always count on the fact that there are Hogs out there that answer almost any question. Thanks!

Great photography,I really enjoyed looking at your images!!! Unlike some that have been posted that were so OOF or lacked any DOF that they made my eyes hurt.

In my grandfather's journal, he mentions buying a Model A in 1930 and driving it all over NY, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey with his wife and 4 children, including my 3 year old mother. Every time I see one, I think about that journey they took, what the roads were like back then, the gas stations, restaurants, hotels, problems along the way, and how the family of 6 with all their luggage managed, and this during the Great Depression.

Thanks for commenting ELNikkor. Trips like that were a real adventure back then. I heard about some from my dad. One of the cars there from Michigan had been driven to Colorado three times and Alaska once. Although, it had different wheels and modern tires. Interesting to me is how the post brought back memories for so many. Made it all worthwhile.

Nice pictures of an outstanding car. The last photo shows the "Victoria' model. As a note, Model A production tapered off in mid 1931 to allow retooling for the 1932 model. !932 introduced the Ford V8 engine, which as a flat head, remained in production with occasional improvements until 1953 or '54.

Thanks for your comments the the added information. Your the second Hog to identify the Victoria, so thanks very much. I knew there'd be some that could fill in the gap.

Thanks John for viewing and commenting. Fortunately the Model A is popular with restorers so they should be around for a long time.

Thanks Gunner for posting that photo. It's surely a family treasure. I'd say you and your brother must of had an exciting and rich childhood. What I've enjoyed with the Model A post is that it has brought up memories with many of the Hogs that they are sharing.

Back in about 1953 a buddy and I bought a 1930 model A coupe for $25 so we could use it for hunting. We hunted pheasant and quail around Yakima WA. One day we got high centered on a sagebrush and a gasoline leak onto the exhaust manifold caught the sagebrush on fire and while we escaped undamaged the model A bit the dust. I owned several old Fords during my teen years and the model A was my favorite.

John, A great set of photos! I actually owned one along with a friend when I was in my teens. Ours was not quite in the condition of these superb examples. Didn't realize that they had sold that many.
