The North American, Model A Restorers Club had its National Meeting in Dearborn, Michigan this year. It was a week long event and they were expecting around 400 cars. On one of the days some 100 drove across town to the Edsel and Eleanor Ford estate in Grosse Pointe Shores for a tour of the grounds and house. That is where these photos were taken. Fun Facts about the Model A: They were sold from late 1927 through early 1932. 4,858,644 were built in seven U.S. plants and 13 foreign plants (Japan to Russia). Including all cars and various truck types, there were 45 models of the Model A.
They were coming and going all day. These are a view during the hour I was there.

1929 model that looks like it was just found in a barn somewhere. Probably the most "original" car of them all.

If it's restored it will look like this '29.

Model A four-door convertible.

1931 two-door sedan.

A different body style to this '31 two-door. I've never seen one like this, but I assume it's a Model A. Maybe someone has more info on it.

John, Thanks for sharing your Model A images. Great job. Brings back memories of my 1928 Model A coupe I spent 5 years restoring in Washington Blue and wool houndstooth interior with oak floor boards.
I have rode in the rumble seat many a time with one of my girl friends on my lap, from Quincy. Ill to Hannibal Mo Today there is not kid who knows what a rumble seat is or what it can used for.

the first car my dear Dad every bought was a model A...............her name was Mabel.

The unidentified auto is a Ford model A Victoria, a much sought out model today.
In my grandfather's journal, he mentions buying a Model A in 1930 and driving it all over NY, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey with his wife and 4 children, including my 3 year old mother. Every time I see one, I think about that journey they took, what the roads were like back then, the gas stations, restaurants, hotels, problems along the way, and how the family of 6 with all their luggage managed, and this during the Great Depression.
