Hello
Attached is a pic of the Ben Franklin Bridge in Philly using 3 exposures.
Created the HDR using Aurora 19 and final Post in ON1.
People I've shown it have liked it, however to me it looks a little fake?
Can't put my finger on it.
Getting the detail on the Girders and bringing them out of the Shadows took some boost of a few areas.
Thoughts on what might be overdone?
Thanks
Jim
Here's a trick to try when doing HDR shots. Take more pictures than you need (5 to 7 bracketed shots) and pick three to build from. You may be surprised at what you can create with the different shots. Always remove any lighter shots that have blown highlights. I find this works very well and you are in control and can create different HDR pictures. Attached is a HDR shot with flying ducks in the left corner. All my shots are RAW and shooting into the sun, most buildings would be dark if not for HDR builds.

To me the sky looks a little funky, but everything from the bridge down looks great. I like the composition!

Your feeling that it looks fake may come from the sun hitting the bottom of the bridge. One doesn't expect that, but with the sun angle it looks okay to me and is what really makes it a really interesting photo.

A little too good to be unedited, but not HDR not overdone. Looks great.

I grew up in Philly and the Bridge never looked so good. Thanx for shearing.

I like this image a lot! The Z6 is certainly capable of producing stunning results in the right hands.
Hello yssirk123, Just curious, how do you know this picture was taken with a Z6? Are you able to check the metadata from the downloaded picture? if yes could you explain to me how to do it?
Thanks

There's some haloing; it'd be good to eliminate that.
And more undone than overdone, is the vertical perspective error apparent
in the bridge pylon to the right of the frame.
Having said all that, I really like your image and the way you have processed it.

Alan.

Since the photo is a composite of several, does metadata survive that process?

Sorry to have asked this question. I imported the picture to ON1 and was able to check the metadata.

In DL the trees are a distraction. It is just a guess, perhaps a bit too much microcontrast or sharpening. Whatever it is, there are just too many pinpoint lights.
Is it what YOU wanted in the end? Is it how YOU envisioned it? Do YOU like it? See too many worried about what others think. Shoot and prowess to your liking not to someone else and you develop your own style and brand in this manner.
Too much bickering amongst peers about what is the "correct" way to process and shoot. What works for one will not for others. All our tastes are different and so is our artistic designs we create behind the lens. I put little faith in online critique.
That being said I personally like it as it is. I am an HDR creator too and personally I like what you did with it. Too many pixel peep images at 100% and printed images are not viewed this way. Good work.
it is against the law to take a photo of this bridge.
