Why? What law? One can find dozens of photos of the bridge on the Internet, so apparently no one else knows it's prohibited.

Just think that a million and million of people have to get rid of all the photo of the Golden Gate.
A bit cartoony, but I like it that way. Good photos are not always ones that mimic what your eye sees.
You have given the bridge a new look and feel. I was reminded of the industrial posters that came out of Germany and the Soviet Union. Not sure why.

I was going to head out to Philadelphia. I didn't know about this law prohibiting photographs of this bridge. Could you elaborate for all Hoggers and myself.

Because you tilted the camera, you can see the converging lines of vertical buildings.
It is very common affect, people can get used to it.
PhotoShop has a way to straighten up thouse converging lines.
Another way to avoid it would be to use a tripod, level the camera and possibly (as somebody here already mentioned) use the tilt and shift lenses.
