I don't know if this is true but I have read in the past that if a mother deer detects human smell on her fawn she will reject it. Anyone know it there is any truth in this?
It is said that petting and considerable contact can cause that to happen... These girls did not really touch them, simply held up grass for the fawn to nibble on... There is a fair amount of controversy as you read the net... This is a large park where we also have a captive elk herd... I have had young elk lick my hand more than once and go right back to momma with no problems...
Thanks for checking out my post...
