Yes, the post-processing is good, and yes, it is a good photograph. The more I look at it the more I like it. Very nice transition from the realistic stairs to the painterly figure of the person. The skewed near-vertical lines somehow add emphasis to the "oldness" of the man.
I keep wanting to tinker with the cropping, maybe bringing in the left side to eliminate the lower post of the stair railing. Or, I wonder how it would look if you totally eliminated the lower stair railing!? It would emphasize one possible story line - moving from independent ascent to needing a handrail at the later stage.
Am I getting carried away again? Maybe it's time to quit....
