I bought a S95 last Christmas and enjoy it very much. I ended up buying a second battery, sometimes I have to shoot over 150 pictures without access to a charger. I'll be taking it this summer on a hiking trip to the Yukon, might buy another battery.

I have a 6 or 7 year old 8mpx Nikon P1 that goes everywhere with me. The only modification was an eFilm hood/display cover. It's ancient by most standards, but so is my 20D.
I won't even mention my Big P&S, a Kodak Autographic IV that still works when I can get film. Oops, guess I just did.
This is good information. I have an S95 and can't get the depth I want. I guess I'm going to have to purchase a larger/better camera. I was thinking about buying another Canon. Which one would you recommend for a beginner?
The S95 is an excellent camera! Shoot away.. I bought the not so pocket Fuji X-10 and love what I get..It's light and sleek and has a real fast lens. Plus, I'm a sucker for the retro look. I'm impressed with the sensor and the film choice pre-sets too ya da ya da,,
