If you can't afford to go full-frame, you can't afford to be great ...

I'm not sure what this has to do with the topic.
I don't believe anyone is speculating that Nikon will drop D850 or the 'Z' line.

Info from a web site called "Nikon rumors" might be a rumor?

Nikon announced a few months ago that they were going to focus on higher end products. So this is not new news.

Interesting the web article says 5 lines to be dropped, but does not name those lines. It's simply click bait intended to get your attention, and make you want to watch the video to find out. I think the term for it is "sensationalism". I will pass.

Nikon Cameras is relatively small company, right now they have many products. A wise company will constantly keep an eye on profits and pare down the product line to what is selling and what is profitable, and focus their limited development resources on new profitable items.

When Nikon made the announcement about higher end cameras it was in relation to DSLRs. Of course that was represented by the photography media as Nikon was going to abandon entry level cameras. That wasn't what Nikon said and if you dug into the information it was apparent that the company was dropping lower end DSLRs in favor of going with mirror-less for that segment. But, where's the scary story in that? Nikon will continue for the time being to support the high end DSLR market because quite frankly, mirror-less can't do that job yet. That will certainly change in the future.

Nikon can’t do that job yet, can’t make an MILC equivalent of a D850.

Yes, (and not just Nikon) that is why they are continuing with the high end DSLRs while moving their efforts on less demanding models to mirror-less.

Interesting that when I was in Best Buy today I noticed that there were lots of Canon DSLRs, I can't tell a high end from a low end..Their names make no sense to me. However, there was only a Nikon 3xxxx and a Nikon 5xxxx and 2 Nikon lenses a 50mm AF-S 1.8 and a 70-300 DX. Does this mean the Nikons were sold out and the Canons weren't moving?

Hmmm. Sony may not have gotten your memo.

It may mean that Canon currently has a much larger market share than Nikon does.

Maybe we can stop this stupid, childish argument...which is better, Nikon or Canon.
