Do you really have any idea how ridiculous you sound. The majority of firearms owners in America are completely honest citizens who have and most likely will never break the law no matter how many fires they own. You are telling people to stay away from military veterans who put their lives on the line to protect you and your family, police officers, doctors, lawyers, teachers, plumbers, carpenters and on and on just because you don’t like firearms. You and your childish petty thinking Liberal friends are already physically attacking those Americans who do not support your Liberal view points. That would make you a clone of Adolph Hitler. Congratulations on finally meeting your calling.

DENNIS, talking with lefty libs is a waste of time. They don’t appear to be able to think or use common sense. They cannot converse with any clarity, nor can they listen. I don’t understand it, but that is what I see. The are adept at calling names and acting like five year olds. And they wonder why they will lose the next election? That makes me laugh.

You are correct Elaine especially about the lack of common sense. Here are manufacturers that have committed no crimes, hire thousands of employees and are engaged in a business that sells internationally in the Billions of dollars. The products they sell are used by honest sportsmen and women, the military of several nations and by police officers around the world. The products, just like the products from thousands of other American manufacturers are benign in nature not one of them has ever had an evil thought, a good thought or any thought. These products are generally made of wood and steel. They have no thoughts at all. Yet because criminals use them to commit crimes the Left wants to punish the manufacturer and the honest citizens who buy them.

Vehicles are involved in killing more people and so is alcohol. Yet nobody ever wants to sue vehicle manufacturers if their vehicle is involved in a major crime. Never is the vehicle blamed. It is the driver. Yet when a firearm is used in a crime it is the firearm that is blamed.

As I said, no common sense.

Sounds as if you are pretty well set too. My last police agency used #4 Buck for the more pellets and less penetration. Let's pray you never need to use those firearms except for personal enjoyment.

I was a long time fan of double-ought, but I took a self-defense course a few years back, and the instructor brought up the idea of #4 for the reasons you I.D.'d.

The last thing in the world I want to do, is to have to exercise my practice and preparation.

I know this sounds crazy to you but, the reasoning behind not allowing suits against gun manufacturers when someone is shot is because the gun was not defective and it operated as designed.
Yes. That is how sick our government is.
Are we great yet?

No just you. Take a bow, and probably a shower too.

Your last sentence tells me all I need to know about your and your thought process. I have yet to meet but one person who told me he hoped some idiot would break into his house so he could shoot him and then leave his body hanging half inside the window so it would at least look as if it was a break in. This was probably back in the 70's when I was in law enforcement. I explained that was an old wives tale and that if he did that he would be going to prison for murder, that evidence would show the body was moved and so on. Every other person with whom I have discussed shooting someone in self defense was of the same mind as you and me as well as Millions of other Americans. The very last thing I would ever want to do is to kill someone even in self defense of me or my family. What a terrible thing to live with for the rest of your life.

By the way the Liberals often promote the idea that many cops are just itching to kill someone and to make it more acceptable for their Liberals agenda they always add in it should be a black man they are itching to kill. In 30 years of working law enforcement and corrections I have never/ever met anybody who even seemed to have those thoughts.

In the 70's and 80's, my brother owned a "cop shop" where I helped with the books, and I played softball with number of police officers and sheriff's deputies. And, to a man (or woman), none of them ever had the desire to kill someone (although that reluctance can get one killed).

Yes it can get someone killed. I was a FTO, Field Training Officer, for a while and worked with a number of new officers. Most went on to become fine officers. One new officer told me while we were driving around that he knew he could never kill anyone even if they were trying to kill him. I reported that to my Watch Commander who said he would handle it. I think he was interviewed again and was gone. I wasn't part of the going away process but I think he realized himself that this was not the job for him.

One of mine during an arrest of three drunks in a parking lot decided he wasn't going to get his hands or uniform dirty and sat there while I took the combative three into custody. Fortunately I had already put in a call for an immediate back up because I had a new officer with me. I had two cuffed and was working on the third when another deputy, one of our reserve deputies and a meat cutter for his full time work came up behind me and grabbed the suspect's other arm saying, I've got it Dennis. Fortunately he also had cuffs because my two pair were already in use. After the arrest and the three suspects were in units on the say to the jail one of the other deputies asked what was wrong with my new partner. I looked over and here was the new guy sitting on the bumper of my unit just watching.

On the way back to the station I asked what he was doing and why didn't he assist me in taking these guys down. He said he thought I was doing fine by myself. We had a great discussion about liability of getting the suspects in custody ASAP so as to limit injury to them. Then we had a discussion about possible injury to ME and why the hell wasn't he there to back me up; same answer. After writing the arrest report and sending him home I wrote a report on him. He never came back to work. He did have the stupidity months later to use me as a reference for another department in Northern CA.

Police work is not for everyone.

I said “gun maker” and “gun employee.” The prime issue was suing gun manufacturers for damages.

Okay so then keep it at that. But these people are still involved with hiring thousands of employees, are decent honest Americans that supply a product to millions upon millions of honest Americans who 99% of the time use firearms for perfectly legal pastimes. So now tell us why you would harass and SHUN these people. You won't admit it but you wouldn't shun a convicted murderer living next to you but you would shun someone who makes a firearm. You wouldn't shun someone who blends alcohol or brews beer or makes automobiles yet you would shun a person who crafts a firearm.

I must say with all kindness and respect, you are one weird dude...You must be the toast of the Liberal organizations in your town.

It seems a reasonable option to add to all the other options, since our politicians and gun nuts are endorsing the bloodshed nation-wide. But remember the immense cost to mount those suits. The NRA with its multi-billions will help the gun makers. I would suggest another option. Have a gun maker in your town? Live next door to a gun employee? Lets have some old fashioned shunning.

You want to shun someone? Why not shun lefty politicians that let so called 'homeless' people shoot up heroin in public and shit on the sidewalks and commit numerous crimes that go unpunished?

I'm retired but if there was a gun manufacturer locally I'd get a job there just to piss you off.
