THAT would be a good question!
I suppose one would have to restrict it to mirrorless cameras with interchangeable lenses?
(I can't change lenses on my bridge, but I can use diopters on both my phone and bridge...)

That won't work. I can change lenses on my cell phone.
I can cover .04mm to 5000mm. My 'real' cameras cannot

First one I've heard of with that capability, but then I'm not looking/following them either.

I think Mac said all that needs to be said:

"If you want to start a forum on UHH fine. I wish you luck. One thing you need to consider, with all the replies you have gotten, how many have indicated interest in a mirrorless forum?"

UHH already has closely related groups on street photography, criticism, and closeup/macro to cite a few examples. It does not have anything comparable to mirrorless.

Some of the groups don't have much activity - but @admin seems to tolerate them.

The mirrorless migration would probably falter if we took mirrorless commentaries out of the mainstream. Either that, or it would increase the "ostrichity" of both types of users... They'd crawl into their own caves on opposite sides of the watering hole (2001: A Space Odyssey reference).

It would be like putting all the conservatives on Fox, and all the liberals on NPR + PBS. Oh, wait... That's actually happened! See where THAT got us?

Just like Nikon and Canon users do.

I'm game! I've switched completely to mirrorless after a long bout of the back and forths. Sounds good to me! GREAT IDEA!

This is an informal survey to see if enough people would be interested in a forum devoted to mirrorless cameras. It would have several purposes such as discussing gear and methods, comparing models, exchanging tips and tricks, and educating those who might want to change to mirrorless.

Post whether you think this would be worthwhile or not.

Having moved from DSLR to Mirrorless recently and given mirrorless is fairly new to most people, I enjoy the mirrorless conversations on this forum. I vote to leave it here for the time being.

BUT - can we have a forum for those asking survey questions?

Then add arrogance, pompous and know it all.

I have been shooting mirrorless for many years. Personally I don’t see the advantage of a separate forum for mirrorless.

Mirrorless bodies are digital cameras like DSLRs and they use the same sensors and technology to record light. Other than the advantages of mirrorless which have been discussed many times here, nothing is radically different about using mirrorless. Anyone who can use a DSLR can easily adapt to a mirrorless format camera.

I agree. The differences are not going to support a forum.
