Mirror, mirror on the wall, who is the fairest of them all?
Why DSLR is by far!
Keep them both in same forum.
YES!!! I am so tired of reading about the Canon v. Nikon wars and about mirror slap when using tripods.
We havw many forums on UHH, I subscribe to 7 at present and have subscribed to 12 in the past.
It costs nothing and would help those who use mirrorless.
The best place for mirrorless at present is MU-43.COM, dedicated to ILC M43 systems.
I am tired of the FF PROs, semi-pros, and "enthusiaats" proclaiming "if you ain't FF, you ain't shit".
I spend a lot of time reading thru the various forums, and would like to see SEVERAL new ones: FF Mirrorless, M43 ILC, P&S, and Bridge. It would let people read only what concerns them.
If they want general info, they can always go to the MAIN photography forum.
It costs nothing and would be helpful.
Great idea. I am interested.

This is an informal survey to see if enough people would be interested in a forum devoted to mirrorless cameras. It would have several purposes such as discussing gear and methods, comparing models, exchanging tips and tricks, and educating those who might want to change to mirrorless.
Post whether you think this would be worthwhile or not.
Why not initiate and see how it goes. There may be a significant number of folks who might migrate or at least add that forum to their reading list. No pain... no gain.
Cheers!
DPReview is a website catering more to gearheads. Diifferent forums for every brand and type. Good place to get technical answers and reviews. But discussions often devolve into "Ford vs. Chevy" type fanboy type drivel.
Very few sections showing actual photos.

The last thing I would want to see is another Canon vs. Nikon battle. Nor would I want to see a mirror vs. no-mirror tussle. The emphasis would clearly be educational and not advocacy.
Contrary to what you think, setting up a forum does have a cost. Admin probably has some expenses and those managing it have a cost in their time.

Although the site admin has to enable the new section, but they don't manage the subsection. That duty, responsibility and effort is the time-cost of the subsection Admin. So the very few 'yes' votes should consider whether they want to put their actions where their words are ...

Don't you think that if you want to start a new forum section that it should be you that manages it?
N O, we need unity, not separation.

Look at my avatar. Do you think I would be capable of moderating this forum?

So, how do you think it works? You want a new forum and Admin finds someone to run it for you?

I don't see any connection between his post and your "response".
