This is the new bridge across the Clarence River near Maclean & is about 95% completed. It will form part of the new highway & after it opens, the old bridge will remain in use for local traffic only. Downloading is recommended.

Nice set, Earl. We are trying to get a new bridge built in Lake Charles where I was born and raised. The money has not yet been allocated. I guess they'll wait until the bridge collapses and then they'll act. It's the new norm in the USA.

Nice shots, Earl. For some reason I like the oldies and glad they're not tearing it down.

Nice set, looks like a good fishing area too, all that underwater structure.

New one certainly is a lot taller, Earl. Seems like a lot of extra expense to keep cars moving. Excellent shots.

Charleston, SC has a similar situation with a new bridge that dwarfs the old one. The old one is so narrow and it was built in the days when the speed limit was 45-50 mph. The concrete guard rails are right up against the lane, so that when I drive it, I move to the middle of both lanes and drive down the center (it's one way traffic). So sorry, if I hold someone up, but I ain't gettin' close to that edge.

If you really want a scary bridge, look at the pictures from the old US-1 highway that goes to Key West Florida. I cannot believe that the engineers put the highway on top of the old railroad tracks (Flagler's folly). It's insane to drive that high up with such short guard rails, but people did--back in the day.

The strong lines make these very appealing! Well done.
