Great response! Admin please take note!

OP asked for help - the least others can do is help. I don’t see what is wrong encouraging others to help, as @Vietnam Vet did.

Added: examples comparing ISO levels and f-stops with that camera would be very helpful.

I would shoot at a high ISO (1600?) and with the lens wide open. Make sure you do not have any unwanted subject or camera movement.
If the light levels are very low you may have to raise your ISO even higher and do some noise reduction when post processing. Shoot raw to give you more flexibility when post processing.

But if there isn't enough natural light to get usable settings, bounce flash is a better friend.

Tomorrow I have a shoot indoors with 25 clients. Some might be sensitive to flash, so I'm hoping I can avoid using it. I plan to take a white backdrop, a blue one and a black. I use a high-end point and shoot. Since indoors, do I crank up my ISO and lower my aperture? If so, what numbers do you recommend? I heard iSO 800 is pretty good but in order to minimize the noise, my aperture should be on the lower end. I usually shoot in Program mode, which I know it's auto's twin, but I'm use to that mode.

Hi Chaxl,
I mainly use my EOS 80D for shooting, but also have an SX50. Great little camera, especially for zooming long range, etc.
If you have an external flash unit that will work with your SX50 (my Canon 430 does), you may wish to use it on the camera and try bounce flash. Experiment a little with subjects to get the best bounce angle. If you have good window light, that wouldn't be needed, but if not, bounce flash can help to give you sufficient light to keep your ISO lower.
Hope that helps. God bless you in your photo shoot.

Thanks for all of the suggestions. The shoot went great, a lot better than expected. In fact some people ordered extra! It was a good day

Instead of name-calling, why didn’t you provide some real information? What is the highest ISO you find to be usable for that kind of work with that camera? What is the largest F-stop that works well with that built-in lens? You should know that kind of thing - you take the OP seriously by providing the needed information.

Yo Jerk from South Bend...

I was going to Ignore you but I have to say my Peace with you, like the OP I Own the Same Type of Camera He Has, & I Learn from what the Other Canon SX-50 Owners have been Creative with this Bridge Camera that was on the Market from 2012 to 2014.

Maybe you don't give a Hot Tinker's Damn but I do! & Every Piece of Advice from UHH Users that Post Whatever is what I Learn From for Tips or Suggestions.

People like you make me Sick coming on this Post & Being a Jerk & Insulting or Putting Down Site Users, & you were Way Out of Line Fella.

All the OP Asked was for Advice, & you went Off on Him for Asking Advice, that we don't Need on this Site.

As for the Highest ISO on the SX-50 I've Used 6400 ASA on my SX-50, & the Largest Opening is the 3.5 & it's done Good for me, I've Use this Combination Mainly at my Church when the Pastor is Speaking or the Choir is Singing, I've Used ISO 800 to the Max 6400 & Fairly the Images have come out Good.

But in the Meantime if you can't be Social, Don't Respond, or Get Off the Site!

Thank You...

I Bought a Sunpack Digiflash 3000 with my SX-50, in February 2014, but it's a Love & Hate, with the Flash, & Does Not Flash Full Power at Times, the Flash Works with Two Other Canons, but for some Reason with the SX-50.

This March I bought a Wal-Mart Brand Flash, but it's a Joke The Flash Fires at a Slow Speed, Such as 1/20, 1/8, Etc, Not at 1/125, or 1/60, I can use it for a Slave Light, but Reasons Unknown the Flash won't Fire at 1/60, or 1/125, & the Built in Flash Works like a Charm, but it's Not a Bounce Type.

I was being quite Social when I suggested that thinking ahead is a good idea. In any case, I'm not going anywhere. Do not use a smiley face if you're going to try to take over this site and set the rules.

So no endorsement here - might as well stick to Canon flash units.

Post a sample of an image you've taken at 6400 ISO. Just curious.

Rehess did no such thing (shamed upon), instead gave you good advice, it is you that is disrespectful!
