I agree. I have one and it has become my main lens!
With a fixed F4 you don't heed to worry about zooming and have the wrong light setting.
A really great lens.
I had the old one but got the newer F4 one. It rocks!

I guess that depends on who you are. I use my Sigma 10-20mm for landscapes because UWA gives intimate feeling - the "you are also there" thing.

In close quarters absolutely! But I am not a fan of the forced perspective from an ultrawide lens - it is disorienting, and presents a very unrealistic view, and it is extremely overdone.

But most use the ultrawide to "get it all in" and they'll do that, and end up cropping top and bottom to make it look like a pano, because an ultra-wide angle is not great for expansive vistas, everything in the distance is too tiny. In my panos, you can see extra fine detail that would not be present if I used a single shot with a wide angle lens. Some of my panos are up to 500 mp.

I did the first pano with a 100mm focal length.

The second was with a 45mm.

The third I used a 150mm.

The fourth was 10mm.

The last image was taken with a 14-24 at 14 mm. The ultra-wide rendition is interesting but that special effect lost it's novelty for me after the 4th or 5th outing with it.

On the other hand, when I am out shooting birds and wildlife, my walkaround lens is a 150-600mm.

Depends on what you consider "reasonably priced." I looked at the 24-120, but it was over $1,000 new/about $600+ used. Instead, I use the discontinued but still nice 28-105 3.5-4.5 D. It does what I need as a walkaround, and only cost me about $200 used, in excellent condition. For me, that's reasonably priced.
Happy hunting!

I like the 24 120 with the D750. Have gotten a few decent shots.

Yes great lens.
Even though it's not light I take it backpacking and have taken it down the Colorado in the Grand Canyon twice.

There is a little known, completely underrated lens from the old days that does an oustanding job on a full frame camera - the Nikkor 28-105 F3..5 - F4.5 AF-D lens. I find it sharper than the 24-120 F4, tiny, and it even has a 1:2 closeup range. The best part is you can usually find a nice one for around $125 - $150 used. It looks "old school" but don't let that fool you.

However, if it started "walking around" on me I'd beat it with a baseball bat to put an end to that. . .

I second that recommendation, especially considering the price. I've used that lens on my D810 and find it essentially as sharp as my 50mm f/1.4 D except in the farthest corners, especially up to around 85mm, and then sharpness seems to fall off slightly. I have the 24-120 VR as well. My 28-105 is sharper, smaller and very much lighter. The macro range of the lens to 1:2 is useful in a pinch for things like flowers and insects. I consider the lack of VR to be the only drawback at times.

I have been using a 16-80 DX and find it great for travel and general use.

What is a good reasonably priced walk around zoom lens for a D750? I do mostly street photography with some landscape.

Depending on what you yourself require in a Zoom lens, you must decide. Although I myself after much research of different Zoom lens, chose the Nikon 18-140mm 3.5-5.6 Aperture lens as my "Walk-around" Telephoto or Zoom lens. I also own a Nikon 55-200mm lens, but at this point in time I rarely have it on my Nikon D3300 DSLR Camera. Read the many reviews, comments, etc. On the Nikon 18-140mm lens. I bought mine used on eBay, very good like new.

Again, not relevant to the OP’s request for info for a lens to use on his FULL-FRAME Nikon D750.

The OP's D750 is a full frame (FX) camera and would be crippled by using DX lenses.

Yes, make "f2/8" the first priority whichever "mm" you choose.

No, certainly not, but I use it whenever it is called for!

24-120 f4. It is on my D750 90% of the time.
