On my D610 I use the 28-300. I have found it to be an all around excellent lens that fills most all of my needs.

What is a good reasonably priced walk around zoom lens for a D750? I do mostly street photography with some landscape.

Depends on what you consider "reasonably priced." I looked at the 24-120, but it was over $1,000 new/about $600+ used. Instead, I use the discontinued but still nice 28-105 3.5-4.5 D. It does what I need as a walkaround, and only cost me about $200 used, in excellent condition. For me, that's reasonably priced.
Happy hunting!

As stated earlier, I bought my Excellent+ (really better then that) 24-120 for $425 at my local camera store. There are several comparable ones at KEH for about the same price. Used 16-80 DX variable aperture lenses (the DX equivalent) are generally in the $600-700 range. The 24-120 seems to be a much better lens, both in terms of performance and build quality based on my experience.

What is that you consider "reasonably priced?" Many refurbished and second hand lenses are usually reasonably priced. If you do not need the reach of the 24-120 the popular 24-85 VR could be a good answer to your needs. Both lenses are variable aperture so if you need a larger lens opening none of those lenses will work well for you. The 35mm setting of the zooms is a favorite focal length among street photographers.

From my perspective, getting close-up-and-intimate is not exactly a “special effect”.

The 24-120 Nikon lens stays on my camera, I also have the 24-85, but don't use it much.

Its REALLY hard to beat the Nikon 24-120mm F4 VR NANO lens that Nikon kits with the D750. Its a great lens for the price, and a true Nikon pro grade gold ring lens.

The 24 - 120 lenses we have been discussing are constant aperture lenses. F4.

The 24-120 rates pretty high.

Here's a link, old but true.

Normally I use the 24-120mm VR Nano Nikon lens for walk-about. If I think the need arises for reach, I use my 28-300mm Nikon VR Nano but find the 24-120 a bit higher in IQ.

The 24-120 f4 that came on my D750 last year has hardly ever been off the camera. Sharp, reasonably fast, focuses close, great color, very versatile. If you want something lighter, and don't want to spend much, right now you can get a Nikon 28-80 AF-D lens in excellent condition on ebay for $60. There are other 28-85 lenses there as well, and they will auto focus on your D750.

I second MT Shooters suggestion about the Nikon 24-120mm f4 lens. I own it and it is always on my camera unless I want another lens for specific shots.
