Very nice , Jan! I find there birds in thick cover most of the time and end up with a shot of very in focus grass.

Great Jan! It is a good birding year for me if I just see one. I would be so happy with these shots. The best photos I have of these shy guys are in my bird books. Nice work, thanks for sharing!
Wonderful! Love the outstretched neck to show off the lovely black patch on the neck with the various warm neutral shades. I'm in SW Ohio and they must be around, though I've yet to see one. Particularly love the first photo - super detail. Great captures!

I seem to have more luck catching them in flight...possibly because they are so well camouflaged I never see them until I accidentally flush them
