The very first gadget I bought when I started birding, now I’d turn back if I don’t have it

Okay, stupidly (Or rather clumsily) I took a tumble whilst wearing my Hoodman around my neck on some very slippery rocks by the coast. My Loupe came disconnected from the lanyard. I managed to find it in a rockpool, but in my rush to pack up and get taken to hospital and treated for a hand injury, I didnt realise that the end eye piece went missing. Ugh! I have searched the WWW to try and find where I can purchase a replacement. Fail. I have contacted Hoodman via their website over 1 week ago now, no reply from them. Very disappointing.
So, my question is this, does anyone know wher I can purchase the missing eye piece in UK or Europe. It is the old one piece style of Loupe, and I love (Loved) it.

First, I hope you heal from your injuries in due season. I too have taken a tumble or so while playing with my camera. I wish your smooth sailing in bristol fashion.

Second, you may not have many options available. You could go back to the place where you lost the part, with careful mathematical calculations considering the tide ebbing you may get lucky. You may find the missing part. Please don't do that
risking another injury or worse.
You could contact the company and they may be able to provide a replacement for about 30 dollars (20 pounds).
You can also hop onto the World Wide Web and troll for a replacement. A good place to start may be B&H Photo here in New York City. (It is a remarkable store worthy of visiting if you travel across "The Pond."). Please look me up.
Another option may be to locate a rifle store. They will have the rubber eyepiece for different diameters of rifle scopes. But, I think that gun shops are rare in the United Kingdom.
Try the second option and good luck.
Third, I saw the Hoodman Loupe demonstrated and I wanted one. However, when my wife heard the price $160 she told me I will definitely need one after she punches me in my good eye. Good Luck with everything.

Happy Shooting!

Contrary to one poster above, Hoodman DOES sell parts. I called them and bought a new lanyard in the past. Try calling them.

You can take some heavy-duty scissors and trim off the part of the eye cup you don't want, making it round. That's what I did.

Look on eBay for the one with a stick on frame. It clips in place so you can easily use it when shooting with a tripod. I tried Hoodman and this type are better IMO. https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Kamerar-MagView-LCD-Viewfinder-16-9-3-2-fit-Canon-5D-Mark-III-1DX-Nikon-D600/222670087803?epid=16025719592&hash=item33d82be67b:g:nSkAAOSwg0BZ2GQE

You may find the links in this post useful.

Sure.

That’s for the eyecup I ordered. Here’s the link to just get to their website:
www.edmondoptics.com

This is probably going to get moved by admlin, now, to the Links and Resources section, but so be it. Or maybe admin will just be kind enough to leave it here.

Good luck with your Hoodman.

Rubber eyecups are available for a variety of uses. You might find one that's the right size at a local optical shop, camera store, or on eBay..

Good luck - I hate having to throw good gear out because of missing parts. I regularly surf "the bay" for broken equipment to use for parts on stuff I already own. It's better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.

Thanks for the tip re "The Bay" Andy, scored a Loupe with additional eye cup on Wednesday evening, it arrived today (Friday), end result is this - Original one now repaired, also now have a second Loupe which my better half can now keep in her camera bad. Saves me miles of backwards and forward when we are out shooting with just one Loupe between us.
