A pair of Cooper's hawks have nested in a tree in our front yard every year for 10 years give or take. This year all three hatchlings, one male and two females have survived and have fledged. As of today they still don't hunt for themselves but mom and dad feed them at sunrise and sunset. The aerobatics at eye level are amazing at feeding time. These are just a few captures from the time they first started poking their heads out of the nest until just a few days ago. The lighting was a bit challenging for just about every shot and the last two pictures were taken when it was about 10 minutes before complete dark. I never imagined I would be able to pull anything out those captures but my new D7500 has proven it's low light capabilities. With each passing day we see them less and less and they will soon go off on their own. Usually one at a time but in the past they have all left the same day. This years brood has been the most enjoyable ever and we can't help but wonder how many seasons mom and dad will nesting.
