This question has been asked before but I'll ask it again.
What is your #1 FAVORITE thing to photo and why? There is no right or wrong answer........what you like to photo is the easy part......why is a little harder. I don't want to hear about #2 or #3 or...... the "everything" answer... be specific. I'll start it in the first response.
Southern California, because it's where I live. I've been here 18 years and am still finding new and interesting things and areas to explore.
Birds and animals (I guess technically that is two things, but, fur or feathers, I like them all). While they are all imprinted with strong survival skills, they have emotions and personalities and a natural curiosity.

I like taking picture of people when I travel abroad. We are so much all different in our way of life, but so much the same in our emotions, desires, hopes, needs. I also like to take their environment. I want the people who don't travel to have an idea of how it is out there...

Those faces could have come out of National Geographic. Great!
As a photographer, although I primarily do weddings and portraiture.... when camera is in hand, there are some things that just initiate lens cap off and focus and shutter released and a new perception of some person or thing. Some of my best pictures are totally unplanned, whether a bee hovering between two flowers, a person on a motorcycle with headlite on looking straight at you, a paragon falcon caught in a dive with talons around another bird or animal, or a waterfalls when light just right, or a women looking up in air holding an ice cream cone near her mouth after just licking, a young lad 20 ft in the air on a bmx bike lying on it side almost and he only has one hand on a bar and a cigarette in the other, grooms men jumping into a pond off a deck after someone just exchanged rings in a wedding ceremony on the same deck.. a flower smiling back at you... the LIST is endless, and why I have over 20 TB of unedited pictures ... ;=)

My general answer would be nature but to limit it to one subject my answer would be humming birds.
I like bugs but wildlife of all kinds is what I prefer. Getting a lot of ideas here.
I love to photograph the coastline, the ocean. Everything can be chaotic and the ocean brings me peace. I also like old buildings, barns they all have stories to tell.
Trees, trees, and more trees! They are majestic in all seasons, their clothing is beautiful, they tell wonderful stories, but the best thing is, THEY STAND STILL!
Portraits. When I can find models. :(

Animals of any species. They don't talk back, complain about the photos and probably aren't going to sue me for any reason.
Sparky57, When I saw this picture I knew it was on Oregon beach, what a beautiful place to take pictures, any time of the year...
Wild Life and Flowers is my joy.
