This question has been asked before but I'll ask it again.
What is your #1 FAVORITE thing to photo and why? There is no right or wrong answer........what you like to photo is the easy part......why is a little harder. I don't want to hear about #2 or #3 or...... the "everything" answer... be specific. I'll start it in the first response.

BIF (birds in flight) why????They are magical and fascinating...there is nothing better than getting an eagle or hawk swooping in to pick up a prey...... a humming bird flying backwards.... a duck going flaps up as it lands on the water... a spoonbill, goose or heron flying close to the water.....BIF are my favorite.
People. I love bringing out their personality. I firmly believe beauty comes from within and so many beautiful people think they're not. If I can capture them with the best angle and best light and they say 'wow, you made me look good' I'll say, 'no that's who you are'. That is the moment I love.

So you prefer macro........Macro is cool....and good macro is very cool... but you sidestepped the question.....If you could only take pictures of one object...what would it be.....a bug???? a flower???? or a piece of dirt????
Hawks and Owls, birds in flight the hard stuff, I'll get the easy ones when I get older. Just being out there, in the wilderness, the Arctic makes my heart sing... I just love it...

Wildlife- animals in general and old abandoned houses.
With the animals, you never know what your going to capture them doing, and with the houses, there is a story to be told behind those walls.

Bugs would be my favorite and if it is a new bug I have not shot before that is really the best
Super macro photography of bugs and stuffs :)
I would say my favorite would be wild flowers - which would include forest & non cultivated tree blossoms. They are much like BIF photos because they come & go so quickly as the seasons usually are short in any particular area so it takes some planning to catch each area in prime time. Within a 60 mile radios of my home blossoms & flowers start in Feb and end Aug. Fall colors start in Sept. - "Now"

I like to shoot mundane everyday overlooked items like pot holes, and photograph them up close and detailed to emphasize line shape texture color etc. If someone looks at my work and says that is really cool but what the heck is it. then i have done my job. It is all Bryan Petersen's fault. After reading his "learning to see creatively" and putting it into practice my work has gone off in strange directions. I claim to be the world's only pothole portraits!
my best pothole. looks prehistoric.
People at extremes. Beautiful, Weathered, Old, Young, Addicted, Homeless, Innocent, Violent..... In your face photography. I get more passionate about it every day. Always trying to learn something new.
Flowers/plants in nature. It is so amazing to explore the intricate components and patterns. And also very peaceful, and most of the time there is no one else around to interrupt a photo session and they cooperate much more than animals and people!!
