It's been over a year since I've been there and I couldn't believe the differance... unbelievable! The crowds were at record levels and it was so bad that I couldn't find a parking spot to most of the best sites! Worse yet was the distruction and repairs due to last year's floods, fire and drought!
Comments Welcomed!
1 The Merced river was raging as usual for this time of the year
2 This is the Arch Rock Park entrance from Mariposa
3 Weddings are backed up for several years

The absolute "Best" sites are where the tourists are not at.
I have found this to be true wherever I travel.
Amazing things are spotted off the tourist beaten path.
I can go on line and see the tourist traps but not the other magnificent but un-visited locations.
It just takes a bit of creativity and it appears from your post you did this and came home with superior and unique photos no one else will likely have.

Totally agreee Snap Shot, we were there in May and had reservations to stay for 4 days and due to the same situation as you mentioned, we lasted only 2 days and left. A lot of the roads out of the valley to other locations were still closed due to snow, and that put all the people in the Valley which as you said the parking was terrible. We will try again maybe sometime in the Fall. Beautiful place!!!

Thanks so much for commenting Architect1776! I agree, but wanted to get my favorite shots to compare with those taken in prior years! What a difference!

Good set Bill. Yeah, the National Parks are crowded at this time of year.
