I got mine at Costco and I am extremely happy with them. That being said there are big changes being mandated by the government to the hearing industry. Hearing aids (yes, hearing aids, not amplifiers) are now being offered at Wal mart and other department stores at a fraction of what they used to cost. One TV ad was touting around $600 for both ears! AARP published about 10 pages of information about this in their periodical about three months ago. I'm sure you can get the information through them. Good luck!

I had read that was going to happen. Good to know it has.
I’ll look for the AARP report. But I view them with skepticism because they are mostly an insurance company living on their advertising. I see they sell hearing aids.
I’ll also look for a Consumers Report update. I find their data reliable, although I don’t always buy their conclusions and rankings when I weight different criteria.

Same here, Marine Corps 1960 to 1966. I brought the VA the results of my hearing test that was done by an MD and was turned down.
The same for me. Navy 1960 to 1964
I have a friend who said he had to choose between hearing aids and a new camera. He bought the camera, then couldn't hear what his wife said about his decision. Win-win.
There's a company looking for a hundred individuals to test their hearing aids for free. They've been running this ad for years so apprerently they're still looking for people.
I was a mortar man in Nam, took the test at VA said I worked in a quiet place ,no aids.
