You may have you own opinion about it, and are free to share it on the tattoo web forum. This is a photo site, and we should keep our opinions that degrade others to ourselves. I have noticed in the year or so that I have visited here that this forum is largely the province of arrogant bullies. There are a few with opinions that I respect, like brothers Burk and Shapiro, but I don't understand the need to say "I can't understand how such an attractive woman can make herself so ugly with that ink." What does that have to do with photography, nude or otherwise? And how do you think you make the subject feel when she reads you stupid comments?

This has become a forum for blowhards who are likely afraid to express their own opinions in public and wish to control all our population to act and be in their own image.

A picture is composed of many parts. Model, lighting, focus, background, color balance, and so on and so on. When someone posts a picture here, some things are technical, bad or good lighting for instance, and can be specifically addressed. Other things are subjective however and are based on one's personal preferences. We are all entitled to express our personal opinions in this forum. What we like and what we don't like. You feel my comment is stupid and I am a blowhard. Well, you are certainly entitled to your opinion but you are not entitled to be condescending and nasty. I will continue to express my opinion on both content and technical proficiency as I see it. You have a nice evening.

Photo 2 is the best of the 3. Good lighting, nice pose!

Photo 1, heavy shadow, excessive flash makes it look like a Polaroid.
Photo 3, crop on bottom cuts off the butt cheek creating an unnatural line on the pose.
Black/Grey backdrop transition around the head creates a shopped look depending on screen. All grey would have worked better with her hair color and body art.

I think she's great, but then I'm still in my 30s.

I like the soft look of the first, and interestingly it's my favorite of the set.

I so agree with you. There are to many arrogant people here. To me this is a place to chat about photography. NOT about how ugly someone is. To me it is about how clear, fuzzy, dark, light the pic is, or what type of gear they used.
We all can have opinions. I for one believe if you can't say something nice, then shut the HELL UP.

I'll bet most of the anti ink guys are old. fat and out of shape, balding to boot, and wrinkled like an old shoe.

Regardless of their appearance or age, I bet if these anti-ink guys were approached by this model to shoot-for-trade, they'd be falling all over themselves to get their cameras out.

I may be wrong, but I don't think any photographic contributor to this forum has ever voiced an anti-tattoo sentiment, nor have they shown any hint of ageism or body-type prejudice. It's always the sidewalk supervisors that are most critical about the model's appearance.

So are you saying that if I post a picture on the forum I should only expect praise and glowing comments and no negative comments?

Papakatz45 -- I did not say no negative comments. what I did say was to talk about the picture and not the person. Say the pic was to close, to fuzzy, cropped to small or should of been bigger. Not that she was ugly because she has tats.

I never said she was ugly. I said I didn't like the body art. Content, whether a person or not, is sometimes just as important as technical competence. If I start posting technically perfect images of dog poop or vomit, will I get praise? How about child porn? As a photographer, I want to know if my work is appreciated for both its content and my technical skills. If someone doesn't like my content, I can chose to change or ignore. In either case, that person is entitled to express their opinion.

This is the joy of art. "Crucifix in Urine" comes to mind.
If you want to photograph images of biological waste have at it. The emesis one could be interesting. Will you vary diet for different color and consistency content?
The CP issue is already a legal and ethical issue. Yes I know some grey areas exist "baby in a bathtub" etc. But blatant CP will deff get you a kick and probably a visit from local law enforcement.

You dont like body art. Fair enough.
Still has nothing to do with the photo and its technical merits.
