Please help in assigning customizable camera buttons.
I am relatively new to photography. I would like to ask what camera functions you assigned to your camera’s C buttons, AEL, AF-on and those assigned to the FN. The “photo” descriptions may vary for different cameras and I realize that these function assignments are personal. I would appreciate your help in my assigning these functions in a more logical manner. I like to shoot landscapes, wildlife and street photography.
Thank you.

More info would be nice, like what is your shooting style? You set your camera up based on that!

You're been a UHH member for four years so you shouldn't be that much of a noob. What does it matter what other people set their buttons to?! What functions do you feel you need to set your cameras buttons to. Why do you feel a need to change any button assignment, except maybe bbf.

Thank you for your reply. Photography does not come easy to me. I am just trying to learn.

You didn't mention which camera you are using.
On my Nikon Df I have the AF-ON button set for focus with focus turned off for the shutter release button.
I have the AE-L/AF-L set to Auto Exposure Lock.
I have the Fn button set to switch between ISO and Auto ISO.
I don't know what a C button is.
Your manual should tell you the different options for each button and the procedure for setting them.
You should select the options that are best for your needs.

I set up one custom function button on my Canon 7dII for birds in flight, and another button for HDR bracketing.
Thank you.
I will watch it.

On my Nikons, I assign virtual horizon to the Fn1 button. I could level the photo in my editing software with the straighten tool later but there can be problems with that. When you use the straighten tool in software, you end up cutting away parts of the image. Using virtual horizon, you get the photo level from the start. You can see the level indicator in the viewfinder.

I have found no need to assign anything to anything.
