I usually shoot JPEG so i had the FN button assigned as RAW-Jpeg for an instant access to RAW if i need it.
The AE/AF is set to back button focus-continuous so i have the IMHO the best focus/composition option.

Here's a good reason to have virtual horizon on a customizable button. The photo I took of the young lady was not level. I later used the straighten feature in my editing software to level it. After rotating it so it's level, I was barely able to keep everything in the photo that I wanted in. Much of the photo has to cropped away after rotating.

This is exactly why we should shoot somewhat wide. And it goes further, if that person in the shot wants a landscape view of that you'll be up a creek. But now if you always just relax and shoot landscape but a tad wide you can re-crop to any style shot. The key is perfect focus so you can re-crop and still have a excellent shot. You may want a slightly higher mpx camera but most are now days. I shoot with a 21 mpx and 36 mpx camera and to this all the time and when the horizon is off, I'm okay.

True. However, I have been trying to learn, for say 20 years, to crop in wide in the finder should I wind up using a different orientation or aspect ratio. Unfortunately, I often fail in practice when it matters. Picture dope slap.

A perfect example of this is to go visit NY City and ride a bus shooting pictures as you go down the road. Shots are fast and even if your shot is level, you need to go to perspective control features in your software to correct the slanted buildings! Yeah, maybe you didn't shoot wide enough to capture the portrait you needed in landscape but it's a learning process. Shooting wide allowed me to fix all the NY City shots.
