Why War With Iran Is Bad For Trump — And America

Cost in $ added to a staggering national debt is what brought USSR down to being Russia of today. We are behind as a nation that was once the greatest. The Government says we can not afford the Green New Deal altho in reality, all the elements are there to be implemented, but we will choose war.

Trump has chosen foreign advisors who are better off in lockup for the criminally insane. Bolten in particular. Every director is from the industry they are supposed to regulate, foxes in the hen house. Having those advisors the advice is known by Trump... a prime example of a priori thinking that the philosopher Sartre talks about. Ask a Catholic Priest if birth control is OK, you know the answer; ask Bolten if we should attack Iran and you know ahead of time what the answer wil be... that is a priori.

Yes we are well armed in the straights, but we are underestimating the Iranian capabilities... underestimation is too often a mental state and fatal in war. The Iraq war was scheduled to be over in two weeks as I recall.. it is well over two weeks. Iran has the "home advantage" and could destroy our carriers by attacking in five ways from Sunday. We are geared to sophisticated attacks so hit us primitive and simultaneous. The strong aggressor in a fight is not expecting a decisive hit below the belt.

Ike warned us of the the miliatary industrial complex... Ike was right.

This country is already drowning in debt:

U.S. National Debt Hits Record $22 Trillion Federal deficits are now expected to average $1.2 trillion, or 4.4 percent of gross domestic product — far higher than the average over the past 50 years.

It's not amusing that, with a good economy, we are racking up dept the fastest since WWII.

I actually agree with that.

The difference between us is that I opposed $1,600,000,000,000.00 deficits with a bad economy also ... you never said a word.

"Ever since World War II, wars have not been kind to American presidents.

The United States didn't achieve victory in Korea, Vietnam, Iraq or Afghanistan, and the costs of these wars in human lives and dollars were staggering.

They left bruises and tarnished legacies for the presidencies of Harry Truman, Lyndon Johnson, George W. Bush and Barack Obama.

At best, should the U.S. go to war against Iran, it will be able to muster the diplomatic and perhaps military support of four countries: the United Kingdom, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Israel.

Otherwise, the rest of the world has been completely put off by the Trump administration's unilateralism, belligerent nationalism, its decision to leave the nuclear agreement without a compelling cause and actions that are clearly aimed at provoking a military confrontation with Iran.

A war with Iran without significant international support, and perceived to be America's fault, would leave the U.S. isolated and bearing full responsibility.

More than likely, this kind of unilateralism would hand Russia and China — and Iran — an enormous propaganda advantage and weaken U.S. leverage in the days after."

I wasn't bitching because he stopped it. I'm glad he stopped it but he should not have ordered the strike before he knew all the details.

History shows that debt goes up with a bad economy.

It is unusual for debt to skyrocket in a good economy.

You don’t know there was a strike. It could have been a fake news strike to keep them guessing.

Useful idiots always believe everything except for truth.

How are you privy to what details Trump had in the situation room? Were you asked as a courtesy to sit in and advise him? Methinks you think you’re more important than you really are.
