I like Gene51’s concept of walk-around.

Seriously, I am amazed at the quality of photos from my RX100 vi.

We had a recent question about good cell phone cameras. Below is my response.

Google Pixel 3. I would avoid the highly rated Huawei P30 Pro. It's a large, powerful Chinese company with questionable practices.

This link you supply raises questions about so-called questionable practices. My next phone was going to be the Huawei Pro 30 because I had no end of trouble with Apple's iPhone X losing its WiFi as a result of their updating IOS from 11 to 12. I was especially drawn to Huawei having a telephoto lens in addition to their other lenses.

Did I read correctly that the problems between US government and Huawei are because the US does not have the up-to date security that Europe does have?
Or are there sour-grapes that Microsoft have fallen behind Huawei's latest technology?

Went thru whole menu, because you certainly make sense. However, no can find. Any hints?
Thanks.

Oh those Sony menus...
On the vi the zoom settings are in the first or second group and only available if you’re shooting in jpg
Keep looking😖

the best "walk around" camera is the one you have with you.

My son uses an RX100 to document construction projects and finished work. He sends me his raw files and I upload his finished images. The camera is completely awesome!

I use your RX's bigger brother - an RX10M4. And I walk around with it. I guess that makes it a walk around.

These are a couple of pictures of me with my other walk-around solutions:

I use the Sony RX99V that has a 24-720 mm Zeiss lens, a pop up viewfinder, and offers manual and RAW shooting. Have never missed a shot yet. And best of all, it fits in my pocket allowing me to be hands free.

You mean HX99V.

Your other walk around camera won’t fit in your pocket.

IMHO your photos are great.
Not sure why you would want to replace success. Unless it is to carry only a cell phone.

He meant that there is no walk around camera. Whatever camera you have regardless how big and heavy can be the walk around camera.

What I have yet to hear is what they do for zoom lenses, NOT digital zooms. This is one area where "real" cameras excel.

The only walk around camera I have that really fits in my pocket is my cellphone. And the photos it takes are as real as any "real" camera.
