Sorry, my mistake. I MEANT BosStrap!! I have generation 3. So sorry for the confusion!!! Glad you caught me on that so I could correct it!!!
UPDATE: I do have a Black Rapid strap on an older camera to wear around your neck and it is bulky. My husband loves it; but I prefer to wear the strap cross body.
No problem, thanks for the clarification. Going to check BosStrap then :)
There is nothing that has facilitated my photography more than using a sling strap. I hated the way the camera would bobble around with the conventional, so much that I often carried my camera by its grip even on extended hikes. With a sling, the lens is pointed down. It hangs at the ready, or can be quickly raised up to ride in the small of your back. You can bend over without the camera swinging wildly. I have the wide Peak Design. You will wonder how you ever got along without it.
I use a Boss strap, about 2" wide. It securely connects to where a regular strap would connect instead of the tripod socket.

I use a Peak Design shoulder strap and find it easy to adjust, comfortable, and durable. Many other choices are available, but you can't go wrong with this company.

Peak Design. Made of seat belt material. Quick detach. Arca Swiss plate used to attach lets you put camera on a tripod without removing anything. The wide strap over only one shoulder instead of around neck is all day comfortable.
I agree with this, it is what I use. Over one shoulder you can just grab the camera and the strap will slide so it comes up to your eye. You can also easily and quickly shorten it to become a regular neck strap (I use it that way for street photography so I can shoot quickly and discreetly), then lengthen it back just as quickly. Very comfortable, even with heavy camera/lens. I use the camera attachments that can quickly be removed instead of the Arca Swiss plate. The attachments can also be used with their wrist strap, which I also use.

There is another brand that has not been mentioned that demands attention: Pacsafe. If you are concerned about safety, anti-theft, anti-slash shoulder straps and bags, they one of the best. Very comfortable also.
I almost bought one of those because it couldn't be cut by a thief, then thought that the seat belt strap on my Peak Design probably would be very hard to cut quickly. If they have to spend time sawing through it they aren't getting it off without you noticing.
I'm sure there's better ways, but I made this from stuff I had laying around.
You can clip it anywhere. With longer lens, I attach it to the lens collar.
Go to Amazon and lookup Vi Vante straps. They are the ultimate camera straps. They are expensive but worth the cost if you want the best.

I highly recommend the USA GEAR DSLR Camera Strap Chest Harness, sold by Amazon for $14.99. This harness is so much more comfortable than a neck strap and I can walk around without my camera bouncing on my chest.
I have used Peak Design for 2 years and have been very happy. Wide for heavy cameras, and the narrow for smaller. I shoot with a Lumix G9 and the narrower strap is still comfortable all day. It adjusts very rapidly, and I usually use it cross body with my camera on my hip. Never have a problem and it's easier to carry that way for me.
