OK , thank you all for the input . I should not have the issue with cables - 2 HDMI cables came with a monitor.
I also tested 4K Lenovo gaming computer. It ended wrong way - I sent my camera pictures , but they were not the sharpest ...as I found . Also the Samsung 1920 x 1080 did not help ...I think the graphics card was not 4k strong. I do not need a card for video...just for 6000x4000 resolution still pictures.
After my dissatisfaction with gaming Lenovo laptop (it had some other problems - windows key did not work, it was overheating and the software brains tweeked the Windows 10),
I will try to find a lower grade Dell with a good graphic card .

Even a "4K" monitor, even a 4096 wide monitor, won't display your whole 6000 wide photo on a byte-for-byte basis. That's simple math, no matter what computer or graphics card you use.

In other words, any monitor with less than 6000 pixels horizontal CANNOT display your picture without compression (AKA down-sampling?).

If you are going to have compression/down-sampling, then you might as well decide what reasonably priced monitor looks good to you. I am using a 5+ years old HP that does 1920 x 1280. My next monitor will be a BenQ that has 3840 x 2160. I will only see the whole picture at 1:1 if it is cropped to those dimensions or smaller. My camera is also 6000 x 4000.

btw, the full frame high-end cameras are approaching 8000 wide.

You may want to rev-evaluate your target specs.

Thanks for the input. I already have an LG 27" 4K monitor ...which I like...so far.
nNow I am trying to match it with the (cheapest) computer able to deliver a STILL PICTURE at 4K parameters = (close to 4000x 6000 ).
My goal is to be able to zoom in and look at picture detais w/o pixelation.
I had a 4K gaming computer , but my pictures were not sharp ...but that (Lenovo) computer had some other problems.

What you seem to be asking will your laptop display a 6000 x 4000 image on a 4K monitor. You will need to check you laptop capability by going to:

Systems/Settings/Display/Resolution.

'I believe' you will be able to see the various outputs your laptop is capable of.

It is true for my set up. A normal HDMI will not give you a true 4K signal if you are using HDMI to transmit from your computer to monitor. I am aware there are other methods of transmitting a 4K signal.

That's an issue with your graphics card (some can only output 4K via dual HDMI ports) - not the cable

OK, you all convinced me >
1. I do have a 4K monitor, I need a laptop !!! I needed an advice what to look for . Am I stubborn, am I stupid? But I got confused.
Each person (which has the knowledge), is telling me something slightly different.

2. When I put all the information and possible hick-ups, I see, I just need to buy a game laptop (to be on safe side) -> it has a graphic card capable to deliver high resolution (even for the movie which I do not need) . I know , there are other options ...for example many salesmen tells me that today's laptops ALL can send out hi-res PICTURES even thru the HDMI 1.4.

3. The problem is that there is difficult to believe to sales people ... some of them do not understand, most of them do not know. The repair people understand, but they want to sell you what they have->mostly desk tops + monitors/TV. And I am getting tired of them talking to impress me about their abilities. I do not need any water cooled graphic card. And they just do not listen, that I want to see PICTURES ONLY on the monitor I already have.

Far from all laptops can output 4K (even still). MOST are limited to 1920x1080 or 1920x1280. SOME are 4K capable. The ability is not necessarily tied to the built-in screen resolution (very few laptops have 4K displays (built-in)). What some sales people call Hi-res is your garden variety HD - as in 1920x 1080

I know, screen resolution of the game computers is 1920x1280 and some can send out 4K. This is what I want to find = which one is that way = cheaper than the one with 4k screen. I would say today that the logic is : 4K to external monitor goes thru HDMI 2 port > HDMI ports are on computers having NVIDIA graphic cards.

Some AMD and nVidia graphics processor cards/adapters do have 4K output via HDMI. However, DisplayPort, USB3, and various ThunderBolt ports may also support 4K and/or 1080P. Be sure your laptop and monitors use the same connections.

Thanks for the advice. Yes, my monitor has HDMI ports. As a note: I have read that it should not be issue anyway ...there are adaptors to use . And yes...I do not like too much adaptors. But in this area, I am OK. The cables were supplied with the 4K monitor .. so I assume they are right.
