Great pictures, the first 3 would make good textures. Is there any wildlife there?

Just down a few feet (it's filled with water), it's a type of pothole called a weathering pit. Caused, they think, by wind erosion. If you've ever seen (or heard of) The Cosmic Ashtray that's a much larger much easier to access weathering pit.

Near west Texas, they call them huecos, and we go to a place to climb called Huecos Tanks. The holes are important natural features for the desert life there, as the retain water when it does rain. This area you have been hiking is beautiful. Thanks for sharing with us!

Nice photos of an interesting area--good work.

“No one” or no one else? Sorry-couldn’t resist--apologies.

Here's a mediocre picture of a Big horn we saw on Stupendous. It covered in thirty seconds what it took us thirty minutes to traverse

Number 1 looks like the hole in the star wars movie.

No one hikes in this region, the area around Nokai Dome. To make these even more unique, these are taken on top of the Navajo sandstone ridges and domes that are hundreds of feet above where hikers normally are (down in the canyon bottoms). We labelled this ridge "Stupendous" on our maps.

Awesome set, thanks for sharing!

I have enjoyed all of your series. The fact that it is so remote just adds to the curiosity factor!

Such beautiful photos. Love this country. Mahalo for sharing your photos with us as I know that I can't do this type of hiking anymore. Again thanks and I do hope you will continue sharing these wonderful photos.
