Along with more recognizable images of the natural world I enjoy examining the mundane, specifically the mud at our feet. This started with a photograph of curling mud that I took in 1980 on a 10 day backpacking trip in Utah's Dark Canyon. that's the first image in this series. Please download.

As John Sexton used to say "Magic Mud"

Thank you! (Many photos I've seen published here have a Download link beneath them.) I can save it, however.
I like to get out and take wildlife/bird photos, but I have been thinking on expanding my horizons and found these very appealing. Don't think my Nikon P900 is really the best camera for this, but will try. (Perhaps a dslr or mirrorless in my future? ;)

As long as your camera/lens focuses relatively close it should work. You do NOT need a macro lens. This one is called Surrealistic Mud for it's Dali like formations

The pictures you took suggest you don't really need anything new. But - I own a Sony A6000 and I bought used a 55mm f2.8 micro-nikkor lens for cheap from KEH plus a Nikon to e-mount adapter, and it is a great combination - and the set-up is cheap. FWIW...

The first is 430 pixels wide. A download will not be generated until the image is more than 600 pixels wide. In other words, these are the largest they are going to show on this website because they are already full size.

People who post pixel widths of 1200, 2000, 4000 and larger can generate a download for closer viewing (and stealing, lol). The thumbnail on the yellow page is compressed to 600.

The Landscape section's guidelines:
https://www.uglyhedgehog.com/t-567003-1.html

Intimate landscapes, abstracts, impressionistic - all welcomed. Expand (or contract? ) your horizons!

Thanks Linda - below is the "definition" from your link to the Landscape guidelines. My own feelings are that a photo, no matter how good, or artistic, of two or three square feet of dried mud would be more appropriately included in "Gallery" than in a section created for Landscapes as defined below. However, if I have wrongly interpreted the logic behind the "definition" so be it.

Quote [To most people the term "landscape" to a large extent means "scenery" of one kind or another. We intend to keep the definitions loose and largely non-exclusive, so urban landscapes and seascapes are included in our definition. In this context we would expect the scenery to be the main subject or one of the main subjects.
As far as STYLE goes we are leaving it similarly open, so realistic, impressionistic, abstract, unprocessed and highly processed are all OK, as are B&W (black and white) and infrared.] Quote

FWIW, I certainly think these pictures do fit into the landscape category.

And if we had been told that they were aerial photos from 5000 feet AGL we would be hard pressed to argue, especially the last three.
