This young PFC was “gung ho” - he was bored with being on base in DaNang and wanted to get into the fight. So he 1049’d until he was finally assigned to the Americal division (as I recall) as a door gunner on a Huey. Two weeks after he transferred out, we read his name in the Stars and Stripes - KIA. Rest In Peace brother.
