The snowy egret is my favorite of the white birds. Beak and around the eye, a beautiful yellow gold. 2 goals I have with these images is to pick out the top 2 for my first printing ever of any of my photos and to get comments on feather detail and maintaining a bright background. I shoot with a Nikon D850 and it is reputed to have the best white bird detail of the Nikons...comments ?
For me, #1 and 3. #1 has good symmetry of the wings, face and eyes facing forward toward the viewer, crest of bird visible. The fish gives context to the scene; the water droplets add to feeling of motion. Great exposure in a difficult (for me) situation with dark water and white bird.
#3 similar with the addition of the reflection. If it were my photo, I would slightly bring up the shadows under the right wing on the body using some type of "dodge" technique in PS. This would partially mitigate the effect of the directional lighting.
If these were my photos, I would be proud.
All nice images and certainly, you have got a lot of the detail in the white. The last image appears to need some white balance adjustment.
Thank you for your comments Greg
