The snowy egret is my favorite of the white birds. Beak and around the eye, a beautiful yellow gold. 2 goals I have with these images is to pick out the top 2 for my first printing ever of any of my photos and to get comments on feather detail and maintaining a bright background. I shoot with a Nikon D850 and it is reputed to have the best white bird detail of the Nikons...comments ?

Great set. The last one is, to me, by far the best. The D850 with good glass could take egret images to a new level. Not that the 150-600 is not a fine lens but I think you have maxed it out on that camera.

These are fabulous! Wonderful photography. If you asked me to pick one, it would be the first one. I like the light coming through the down-turned wings and the little fish is a bonus.

Thanks Mac...all my photos are handheld and don't think I can hoist a prime lens like that.

Vic, a fantatic set and I believe you achieved your goal. The details in DDLs show the details you are striving for in the feathers. The first one in particular is beyond awesome.
