Here is my attempt at editing your image RG. I did a few basic edits in Lightroom, then moved it to Luminar 2018. I used a number of filters in Luminar including the AI Enhance, AI Sky Enhance, Micro Contrast, Image Radiance and a few other filters.

Best to view the download.

Thanks for joining in, Vince. There's nothing ambiguous about the weather in this one. Another alternative for us to consider.

R.G here is my attempt - first some adjustments in Lightroom and then into On1 for effects, dodging and various filters and a light leal. Wanted to bring out the morning gold on the trees and grass. Back into lightroom for exposure tweaks before exporting. Details are in the download.

You've done an excellent job of enhancing the soft, golden light, PG. Brighter is easy to do but softer takes a bit more skill. The effect is magical.

I enjoyed the challenge of this image. Used a PS "oil paint" filter for this rendition of previous post.

Thanks for taking us even further into Wonderland, Pat. Glad you enjoyed.

Thanks, R.G. Really enjoy the challenge of PP. Unfortunately, I find hours have flown and, OOPS, forgot about the time and other parts of life. LOL

You got the important stuff seen to first. That's what matters .

I like to keep it simple and realistic. I think the halo around the mountain is the result of HDR Processing? (it could be eliminated with more processing in Photoshop). I took the original and applied several luminosity masks to balance the mid-range, selectively increase saturation, and bring out more detail in the sky. Final step was to use split toning to warm up the highlights and cool down the shadows.
As I think about it in retrospect, I would now apply some "light rays" (using paint brush) to the light coming through the tree. It's your photo with lots of potential. Have fun!

There was a time when the regulars in the PP section used to put shots up for editing on a fairly regular basis. It was a great way to learn and sometimes it actually produced something worth keeping . It would be nice to see a return to those days.

Anyway, here's a shot taken in Glen Affric. I found it during a recent trawl through my dusty archives. Apart from merging the three bracketed shots to produce the file that you see I have not got round to trying to do something with it. The exposures and the merging tool have produced an image that's brighter than it should be, but as I'm sure you already know, that's better than starting with an image that needs lightening, and despite the brightness, it's just below the point where the highlights are blown. And being a merge it should be data-rich and take a fair bit of pushing and pulling. See if you can come up with something that'll inspire me when I come to having a proper go at editing it.

Knowing what's needed to change the time of day or the mood of a shot is one thing, making it convincing and believable takes something extra. You've pulled this one off very nicely .

What a great shot to work with in terms of composition and range of values and colors. Using Photoshop, I adjusted the curves until I liked the range, especially bringing down the darks while preserving their details. Also critical for me were the warm tones of trees and grasses.

Then I used Unsharp Mask to get detail without over sharpening. I burned, shadows and midtones around the sun blast, to bring that out. Finally I burned midtones on nearest mountain and the sky to have them fit into my perception of the scene's light.

I think your idea of bringing back photo sharing for others to process and share that processing is a good idea, and I will share one soon.

Thanks for the participation and the info, Bob. I've just acquired a mid-tone slider myself and I like what it does to the overall look, especially on the back of lifting the shadows.

What does laudatory mean? (Just kidding - nice of you to say so).
