We have been fortunate enough to travel to the Netherlands, partially due to our having a campus there. Then, to visit the culture, outstanding. You, sir, did an excellent job capturing the beauty of what could be taken for granted. Yet you set it apart. Terrific.

Very much appreciated your comment ...

Since my dad's folks came from Friesland and my mom was born in Middleburg, Zeeland and we've visited a couple times, I have a soft spot for the Netherlands. ( I also lived in Holland, Michigan where we have an original Dutch windmill ( De Zwaan))that was imported in 1963. I especially like #'s 1. & 5. without the boat.Really enjoyed seeing these pics, Thanks!

Windmill are used to pump the water out of the low lands when the level gets to high, first in to canals and from there in to the river where it can flow back to the sea ....it’s not used to irrigate the the tulip fields ..

Thanks....I totally misunderstood their use. I have never been to Europe and have never been inside a windmill and would love for someone to take pictures of how they function from within.....it would be educational and quite interesting to learn more about them.

Thanks for your response sir. Nice work !
