Just thought I’d ask. Is there an interest in a new topic field for cellphone photography? It seems to be an up and coming interest.

I don't know if it will go over very big but to me...photography is photography.
Not for me.
To me a camera is a camera.
SLR, DSLR, bridge, Cell, pocket, view, medium format, ...
(Are there topics for bridge or medium format cameras?)
Normally I do not care what device created an image, I look at the image.
Many very nice photos have been captured with the modern "Cell Phone" or "Smartphone" Cameras, and honestly these limited cameras are getting better too. I myself have captured many photos that I have been quite pleased. So, I would like to see a "Section" here at UHH specifically for This new Camera format.
How to create a new section on UHH:
https://www.uglyhedgehog.com/help/user_managed_sections.jspAs mentioned on that page, one challenge is the volunteer-managed sections are invisible to new users and quickly forgotten by seasoned users who are comfortable where they are. The overwhelming majority of UHH members hang out in Photo Gallery and Main Discussion Forum.
Browse "all sections" at the bottom of this page to see how active/inactive specialty sections are and their number of subscribers.
As Ched49 and Longshadow suggest, the impact of a photograph usually has less to do with what gear was used than it does with the vision of the photographer - and two important basics that are rarely discussed on UHH: light and composition.

What!?
You need light and composition?
Where do you get this composition?

Read your user manual 😄
Manual?
Read the manual? I have a manual?
Boy you're tough!
With trends being what they are and Canon & Nikon selling less DSLR each year and smartphones with photo apps, social media, bluetooth camera controls. To me sounds like a great idea for a basic smartphone area since as stated a photo is a photo now with todays equipment not having to be just a DSLR, or pocket camera. Even thou I am not one yet to get any smart phone with camera it never to late to stay current with how photos and videos are being currently being created and what is the current tech and apps.
I enjoy getting into the process of making a photo using the settings available on any dedicated camera, which is why I'm interested in getting back into film, you can't get much more involved with picture taking than you can using film. It's like driving a stick shift instead of an automatic, with a stick shift, it makes you become more involved in the mechanics of a car.
I like the panos my cell takes. As I'm panning it tells me up or down, then clicks. I just continue as I like.

So what exactly makes a cell phone image fundamentally different to a 'stand alone camera' ?
People here use full Auto very successfully. From pocket cameras to 'look at how much money I could afford to spend' kit....people learn how to get the best from them - or not!
90% of an image is content....and has been since 'The Box Brownie'. Post Processing works across the board - again with varying degrees of success.
The only advantage I could think of - would be less people wanting to know 'what settings you used'. (probably would not stop them asking though)
Sod the equipment....just have fun 'doing' photography.

I second this. And with panos exposure usually is better handled by my mobile, as well.
