I find myself in a similar position. I have a Sonya 6000/Sony 18-105mm f3.5/Sigma 16mm f1.4/Sigma 30mm f1.4. For me, trading-in/selling to one of the big new/used companies is not an option. For example, one of the larger, well known used dealers is selling used an a6000 body only for around $325.00. However, their offer for an excellent scratch/ding free body is around $160.00. I understand this...business is business. The OP will be in a similar position. The best would be to do a private sale. I am going to use my gear - it is a nice set-up.

I am always happy when I sell something. Money comes in, and something I don't want goes out. It'as a win/win. Go for it!
I RELUCTANTLY faced the facts and sold my D850 to a fellow hogger. I did the same with my numerous remaining lenses. I then bought a FUJIFILM X-T3, mirrorless, and a few lenses. I think I did the right thing with my age advancing and my back getting worse each year.

If I decide to do it I think the worst part will be trying to sell 20 plus items, could be a pita.
I for one would be a possible BUYER, since my stash includes many PENTAX & FUJI ITEMS. Always looking for more P&F stuff, if you choose to sell things I don’t already have.. RJM
Buy your new smaller gear but don’t sell. I have sold older cameras but you don’t get much for them, sorry I have sold some. Switched to Fuji a couple years ago and keep all my Nikon cameras and lens.

I have a RX10M4 and can't say enough great things about it. But I still held onto my full frame Nikon gear. My experience is that the Sony cannot substitute for the Nikon.
My goal for the Sony was to get a small package - high end camera, high end lens, and the best IQ possible in a small sensor. It checks all the boxes. But it has it's limitations. If you have APSC gear, then it will be less of a compromise.
I agree totally.
I got the RX10M4 and now find I never use my APSC cameras. Probably never will. Probably never will go full-frame either, but who knows. What I know is that my success rate on photos is far better than on my other gear.
I bought my grandchildren their 1st ‘used’ point and shoot cameras, age 7&8... they love their little cameras.
They see “Meme” with a camera By her eye all the time. Was teaching and taking “close up/macro” this week end....got them involved, they loved it.
One day, I will no longer be here...they can then choose for me what to do with all my cameras and lens, cause by then they will be taking all their photos with lenses attached to their cell phones.
I recently sold my Sony G 70-400mm lens that I’d use on my Sony a77ii because of the Sony RX10M4! The RX10M4 takes better pictures, much smaller and doesn’t require a tripod. Truly an Amazing camera....Go For It!

I sold my Nikon DX and FX bodies and all the associated lenses a couple of years ago. I'd been using Nikon since ~1970 (along with a lot of other fun stuff, from Minox to 4x5). But after trying a Lumix micro 4/3 camera as part of a lightweight travel setup I decided it was good enough for the photography I do and decided to make the switch.
Didn't get much for the old equipment, but what I have now covers my needs superbly. And it's SO much smaller and lighter weight - even the Lumix G9 with its 12-60 f/2.8-4 lens (24-120 full frame equivalent), which is the largest body/lens combination I have, is smaller and lighter than anything I had in Nikon gear. I remember the Nikon gear fondly, but wouldn't go back to it if it were offered to me for free.
It's your banana boat....go for it. Tomorrow ain't promised to any of us. Regrets are for wimpy -whiney-types and no body likes a whinner anyway.
Good luck

Thinking of selling my Fuji and Pentax systems and down sizing to a Sony RX10 4 and maybe the Ricoh GR 3. I have a lot of money invested in my gear but just don't shoot as much as I used to. The longer I hang on to it the less it will be worth, seems like a waste. Has anyone done this and been happy or regretful.
I have both the RX10 III & IV, as well as two full frame Sony cameras. The RX10 IV gets used 90+% of the time simply because it is a GREAT camera / 24-600mm lens combo!
I still use the A7S and A7R II for low light (nightscape / astrophotography) shooting BUT the RX10 IV gets used for pretty much everything else...

I went from dSLRs to Micro 4/3. For what I record (half stills and half video), it’s perfect.
What do you have in the Fuji line? I've been interested in them ever since the X-series came out. My camera was stolen, and after being professional photographer for 47 years, it just doesn't feel right to not have a good camera in my hands.
OH YES....a Seagull & French Fry are a match made in Heaven.
