It’s a good question..... the reports said smoke started about 5-6 minutes after the church closed to the public and workers had made their way to that area for renovations.

The fire sparks had to have come from somewhere. Restoration work on a wood structure was going on. It is feasible that metal reinforcement was being installed and that welding might have been involved. Then a flood of welding sparks would be feasible. But then why did the contractor not have fire suppression capability?
