Texas Tech may put West Tx on the map again. Its campus is in Lubbock, 350 miles from El Paso.

Virginia was a bit lucky to beat Auburn. I'm not a fan of Texas teams. I am a fan of the underdog! My team, Duke, was knocked out. I was hoping to see the phenom, Zion Williamson in the championship, but it was not to be. I'm not a fan of the very powerful and rich NCAA, but the tournament is one of the best competitions in sports.
I'll be watching!

Yes, and kudos to the selection committee! The final 16 was made up of all 4 #1's, #2's, #3's, and two of the #4's. That is an outstanding selection! Now Texas Tech has a good chance to win it all, and at #5, they aren't exactly a Cinderella, none the less a great rise in respect.

Even Charles Barkley, who attended Auburn as a basketball player, said it was a foul. Now, that's what you call unbiased.

The foul was not a hard call. It was obvious.

If you noticed the ball went off the rim, if no foul it may have been in so the outcome would have been the same. I am a Michigan fan so I have no qualms about a great game and a great tournament.

I'm curious to see where Zion Williamson of Duke will end up in the NBA. Coach K would love to have that guy for one more year. The Los Angeles Lakers want him badly. But, they will have to give up almost everything to get him. Wheel and deal, and give up draft choices and half the team? All for a 19 year old college superstar. That's power, I would say.

The post game slo mos clearly show it was a foul, but they also clearly show the uncalled double dribble by VA previously. Both were critical to the outcome of the game.

Mark, we lived in Albuquerque and watched Texas Western Miners and Coach Don 'Bear' Haskins team that 1966 season beat the Lobos twice. I'll never forget Dave Latin the Miner's big center, and then to the Bear had a point guard about 5' 9", Willie Worsley, who could dunk the ball on a running shot. The most impressive thing about that team was the character of Don Haskins. He didn't follow the $$$ but stayed and coached at UTEP the rest of career. (Texas Western became UTEP in 1967). Loved that ole Bear!

I’m a fan of anyone from NC (Duke, UNC and NC State) playing in the NCAA, but this one-and-done concept completely perverts the concept of college sports. In my opinion, if a team has to resort to that type of tactic to win, then I’m just as glad they didn’t, and that’s a hard thing to say for a NC native.

The NCAA and the NBA are working on a solution to this one and done. We shall see what it will be. Adding one more year is about all they can do, IMO. It's all about the money.

I think you have summed it up mas24....."A college superstar". I personally think he well skunk as an NBA player. Too many men in the league that are bigger ,stronger , all they have to do is double team him in the paint and take their chances on his perimeter shooting, which isn't bad but he likes to dominant in the paint and I dont think he can do that in the NBA like he did in college. College really had no one his size or caliber to cover him, the NBA has one or two or three and so on. JMO

Pat Riley, age 74, legendary coach of the Championship Los Angeles Lakers, Miami Heat, and President of the Miami Heat, was on the 1966 Kentucky team against Texas Western. Now known as UTEP. Riley said he knew that coach Adolf Rupp of Kentucky, did not want to lose to an all black roster. Rupp did not draft black basketball players at that time. Kentucky was a basketball power house at that time, and was not ready for integration of players. In other words, they didn't want a Jackie Robinson experience at Kentucky.

Oh no, he's not going to come into the NBA and dominate the league. Many, will say to him. Welcome to the NBA young man. We take no prisoners here.

I missed that movie. I'll have to check it out. I only saw short B&W News clips of it, before Glory Road was released.
