Hi Linda, Here's an edit. The challenge was it had a lot of noise and was underexposed. The sun was setting behind the camera resulting in a bright moon on the horizon with a darkening sky. However it wasn't dark enough to push the middle ground hill into shadow. After basic and local tone adjustments, I removed the noise and a bit of colorcast.

Mike
Thanks so much, Mike. I like the crop, bright white moon, lighter landscape. A neat interpretation!

Thank you for your time and interest, Tommy. The light blue sky is very appealing to me.

All right! I'll apologize in advance-Sorry- I could not help myself! Everyone did such lovely interpretations of your landscape. I could not do better so my "morbid streak" kicked in and I turned your beautiful sunset into "NUCLEAR WINTER" or Armageddon or what's gonna happen if we keep messin' around with nuclear weapons, dumping all those plastic bags in the oceans, ignoring global warming, generating all that pollution and feeding our cows too many beans!

Actually, lately, I have been experimenting with digitally replicating some of my old darkroom effects- solarizations, high contrast and cross-processing and shooting inferred too! An ad agency client of mine is working on a government contract for a report on environmental issues and I was asked to provide some visual material. I am gonna shoot some pretty landmarks and tourist attractions and mess them up.

I've never been happy with my attempts. The pink color is from sunset light behind me, but there is a bit of dirty air and the deep blue shadow to deal with also.

You are welcome to go "playful" though I'm more curious about how you deal with this one realistically Many thanks!

My attempt. I wanted to embellish that foreground more, but I found any more would create an unrealistic scene.

I duplicated the layer and in Photoshop raw filter I altered the sky in the bottom layer to what I wanted and the same with the foreground in the top layer. Using a mask I took out the sky in the top layer that I had edited the foreground to make a whole picture then merged the layers...

Dramatic! Thanks so much, Val, especially for the reminder of the excellent option of combining layers you've worked on separately in ACR.

While I looked at all the edits and then your comments it became difficult for me to decide exactly what to do with colors and brightness. I decided to make look like an early morning around here when I still see the moon in the sky. Not sure if the moon is too saturated, that was my only dilemma.

Very realistic, thank you Jim-Pops. I've seen a white moon, and a yellow moon - both rising and setting. Just depends on atmosphere and time of year, I would think. Appreciate your interest!

Not sure what you're looking for. Personally, I think it needs very little. I like the blue shadows. Shadows are naturally blue, and make a nice contrast to the pinks.

Here's my take on it, a quick edit in LR. Minor tweaks to the W/B points, a grad filter to the sky to which I added a bit of blue, and I added a tiny bit of contrast to the moon itself. I think I fiddled with the shadow slider a tiny bit too.

Linda, thank you for all that you do for folks on this web site. You have a dedicated skill with images and It was late tonight, but I had a curiosity as to what photoshop browser and a preset from Topaz might do with the image. It is not particularly an improvement, but reflects what I think I see in the afterglow often following a sunset here in Ellensburg. Somehow the brightness dropped about a quarter to half a stop in the transfer so the landscape returned darker.
