We did our usual vehicle safari today and I guess it was Quail day ! - They are usually quite skittish but we were persistent and managed several decent opportunities - some of the better ones shown below.
This same area has a population of Red Headed woodpeckers and they are very elusive and skittish also..... and we scored -0-.......oh well, maybe some day ( I still have hope
)
These taken with Canon 80D and Canon 400 prime W/1.4X II braced from car. Light was medium bright well diffused (soft ?) ISO 500-640.
They are gorgeous birds !
