Here's a shocker for you, Elaine. I don't even hate you.
Pitty, yes, but hate, no, you're just not that important.

Delusional little Frankie, I couldn't care less what you think about me. Maybe if your sanity EVER returns, your life will change and you can get out of the asylum.
There was an interesting article in the WSJ yesterday. Since the question of reparations is again being raised, it asked if the children of abolitionists would have to pay reparations. There was a great animosity towards slavery in this country from the very beginning. The question must be asked, too, what of the great payment made during the Civil War in loss of life that resulted in the freedom of slaves. Will those lives be counted towards the reparation? We have, over the past few decades been making reparations through social programs, minority hiring practices and Affirmative Action. The best reparation that could be made in the future is investment in education across the country to enable individuals to be ready to support themselves either through the trades or to go on successfully into college. Societal attitudes, too, towards the importance of education must change. Education is the only way up and out.
The first priority in improving education should be to attract the best individuals to teaching.

Some slaveowners were Blacks. Should their descendants have to pay reparations? In modern times, affirmative actions discriminates against deserving applicants, in favor of less deserving, less qualified applicants. Should the beneficiaries of affirmative action discrimination pay reparations to the victims?
My own ancestors immigrated via Ellis Island. They never had slaves nor profited from slavery. They suffered ethnic discrimination and gender discrimination. How in heck can anyone suggest that I should pay reparations to anyone!
Well. Since only democrats owned slaves and republicans freed them. Democrats owe reparations. No one else’s problem to figure out how and whom. Of course they owe the Republicans too.
Slavery in America is a democrat sin.

Do you ever have an intelligent thought?

You just can’t read. You refuse truth and history. Odd life you live.

Actually, I can read.
I have never seen a claim that only Democrats owned slaves except on your ignorant posts.
You keep suggesting that I read, but apparently, your ability to read history stops at 1963. Once the Civil Rights Act was passed by LBJ, the old school Dixiecrats migrated to the Republican party, where they still reside, today.

Nope. You are wrong. That’s just the big lie of propaganda only Useful Idiots cling to. Only democrats owned slaves. You cannot name a single republican who did.
Wake up. That crook LBJ was forced by republicans. He was a hateful racist.
Dixiecrats remained solid racist Dems until their dying day. As are you.
In light of facts and truth, you always lose.

I think that the first part of your statement misses the current interpretation of current discussion on reparations, in my opinion, the discussion goes more to the second part of your post, investment in the blighted communities, the hardliners on reparations want such investment to go only to blacks and they probably want such investments to come in forms of grants to start small businesses etc. That is probably not going to happen, but what can happen is incentivized investment into underserved neighborhoods. It won't be easy but it has already started. Trump has done much work along these lines and he has more work to do but the press does not cover it.
